It had been a while since Sally had visited Jack where he lived at the edge of the Forrest. She missed the days they had spent together, before he had decided to leave. She still stayed in his old house, and day by day, she’d wander about, keeping herself occupied with her handiwork and looking at all the things that Jack had left behind. It was a lonely life. She wanted to get out more, but often couldn’t bring herself to. It really wasn’t her fault, but years of being suffocated and reined in by Doctor Finkelstein had left her painfully ignorant in social situations. She just wasn’t comfortable, though she did her best to be kind to everyone. The memories of all the years she’d wasted were bitter in her mind.
Sally stood in her kitchen, packing a few of the things that she had recently baked into a basket to bring to Jack. Once she’d piled it with everything she could, she covered it with a cloth. It had steadily gotten colder as the days wore on, and she had to put on her coat and wrap a scarf around her neck before she left the house. It was already evening when she set out, and she hugged her arms around herself against the wind as she walked to Jack’s place. The walk really didn’t take all that long, and it was more than worth it to see him.
When the familiar shape of his house appeared against the dark backdrop of trees, she couldn’t help but smile. Sally took a moment to smooth down her hair, which had been blown into a bit of a disarray, and then reached out and knocked on the front door.

fuckyeahnightmarebeforechristmas:
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
It’s a pleasure to meet you too. I’m Sally. Dot is such a nice name. Unique.
I’m Ella
Hello, Ella. I’m Sally. It’s lovely to meet you.

Hello, Sally. I’m Emilie, pleasure to meet you. My day has been fairly quiet. My friend Victor hasn’t been around lately, so I’m a bit worried. What about yours, lovely?
Oh dear… I hope your friend is all right. Perhaps he’s just been a bit occupied lately. But if there’s anything I can do to help you in any way, do let me know. My day’s been just fine. I saw some children playing this afternoon, which was such a welcome distraction from the silence around my house.

I’m Sally… by the way.
